What is blogging?


Blogging is generally a short form way of writing online.  The writing is done in the form of blog posts which can also contain hyperlinks to websites, images and a range of multimedia.

Why blog?


Blogging allows students to:

  • Develop their writing skills
  • Publish to an authentic audience
  • Receive and give feedback
  • Share their thoughts locally with family or globally with other students.

How to blog


Blogger which is part of the Google Apps suite provides a platform for teachers and students to create school, class, or individual blogs

What about security?


Blogger provides the ability to make blogs as private or public as you require.  You can have more than one administrator and add authors to your blog. Comments on the blog can be moderated.  If you or students do have a public blog discuss being cyberwise.   

Can students blog from the iPad?


Yes you can use the Blogger App for quick posts to the blog.  

Is there an easy way to get lower primary blogging without them having to remember account names?


Yes, there are now two Apps for the iPad where the teacher can set up easy access to the class blog.  Download Easy Blogger or the  Easy Blogger Junior App to get a simple to use interface for posting to your class blog.
