TAFE students exchange ideas at Learning Exchange

11/9/2015

TAFE Library students recently experienced the latest technology in learning and libraries via an interactive tour of Learning Exchange.

Students from the Western Sydney Institute of TAFE were exposed to 4 different aspects of technology in learning and its possible application in libraries:

  • The World of 3D Printing
  • New Ways to Explain Things with iPad Apps
  • Using iPads in Libraries for Learning
  • Creating Online eResources packages with QR codes

Students then used a Google Form on an iPad to type their observations of the Learning Exchange services, library space and the workshops for the day.

 Feedback from the students:

TAFE Google Observation form

  • 'It is very easy to integrate amazing technology into the classroom/library. This is a great way to educate, engage and foster a positive learning environment, where learners are able to experience new technologies first hand and take ownership of their learning.
  • 'The library spaces are organised in a way that enhances integrating technology and communal learning. Much more of an ideas exchange than the traditional stereotype of a library.'
  • 'How easy it is to use new technology such as Google docs and their similar programs and how resourceful they can be'.
  • 'Never stop learning, our kids will have a fabulous future'
